The Georgia Martyrs Knights of Columbus Council 17969

The Knights of Columbus was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney on Feb. 6, 1882 with a mission of charity.

The Georgia Martyrs Knights of Columbus Council 17969 of our Catholic Center is extremely grateful to all who supported this year’s series of Fish Fries. This was the most successful year of Fish Fries the Catholic Center has ever seen, and it wasn’t close!

Now, the Knights will look ahead to hosting the donut ministry on Sunday, April 7th. The following Sunday, April 14th, our council will begin collecting donations for our annual Blessing Bag Project for Athens’ homeless population. Please see our items list, pictured to the left, for physical items to donate, which can be brought into the Catholic Center’s office and left on the stage during weekday office hours (10am-4pm) or after weekend masses. Checks can also be made out to “Georgia Martyrs K of C Council 17969” with the memo “Blessing Bag Project” and be brought or mailed into the Catholic Center. Checks made out to the Catholic Center will not go directly to our council, so please ensure that any monetary donations are made out to the Knights as written above.

Donations will be welcomed from Sunday, April 14th through Sunday, April 28st. Last year, this project was valued at over $21,000, and we hope to do it even bigger this spring!

Charity

Charity is at the heart of our work and our faith – and it always has been. For the Knights of Columbus, charity means supporting a virtually boundless variety of projects.

Faith

Our commitment to charitable service is just one of the many ways that we express our Catholic faith. We’re here to build a daily bridge back to what matters, for our members and fellow Catholics.

Membership

With 1.9 million members around the world, we have been investing our time, effort and resources into our values of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism since 1882.
